    This first concert features pianist Alvin Waddles, best known for his leading roles in "Too Hot to Handel" and "The Fats Waller Review", will return here to Boston-Edison, his childhood neighborhood. He will perform a classical concert with special guest vocalists from the Michigan Opera Theatre. This intimate concert will be inside a beautiful home, and weather permitting, guests can have dinner outside in the garden (buffet dinner and drinks served at intermission).

    Join the HBEA Membership Committee for Happy Hour at a local establishment (venue provided closer to event date)! Snacks will be provided, and the first 5 active (dues paid) HBEA Members receive their first drink free! All Boston-Edison residents are invited to attend!

    These popular events are a great opportunity to learn more about HBEA, but more importantly, mingle with fellow neighbors in a relaxed environment. Hope to see you there!

    The Historic Boston-Edison Association Annual Membership Meeting is held every year to:

    1. Elect members to the Board of Directors;
    2. Inform members of previous and future activities, and
    3. Review fiscal information for the past year and answer any questions regarding the directions the business will take in the future

    On Saturday, June 16, 2018, city of Detroit residents with older and historic homes will be afforded the unique opportunity to participate in one stop shopping with area home repair/preservation specialists. These pre-screened specialists with knowledge and experience of the needs of historic homes will exhibit their expertise at the 15th Home Preservation Fair presented by the Historic Boston- Edison Association.

    This second concert features pianist Mike Jellick, who was was born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Michigan. He is one of the most sought-after pianists in the Midwest. He draws from classical and jazz influences in his playing and writing. Jellick has performed with Rodney Whitaker, Marcus Belgrave, Christian McBride, Karriem Riggins, Wes Anderson, Victor Goines, Tia Fuller, Ron Blake, Vincent Chandler, Sean Dobbins, Ingrid Jensen, Terreon Gulley, Jesse Palter, Sean Jones, Carl Allen, and many more. Our very popular summer jazz party sells out quickly! This under-the-tent performance will be in the backyard of a beautiful Boston-Edison home and includes a summer-themed dinner and drinks.

    The third concert features Detroit-born and bred keyboardist Gerard Gibbs, known for his incredible energy and musicianship on the keyboard and organ. He currently performs internationally with James Carter, Ronnie Laws, Marion Meadows and Pieces of a Dream. He is the leader of several ensembles; his group RYZ (pronounced "Rise") will grace the stage at this special concert in the garden tent of the Junior League Designers' Showhouse.
