5th Annual Boston-Edison 5K Run and Walk (Saturday, September 19, 2026)

Lace up your sneakers! Whether you run, walk, or stroll, everyone is invited to hit the pavement for community, fun, and fitness.

What's New This Year:

A brand new route through our beautiful neighborhood!
Exciting Kids' Sport Activity to keep the little ones moving and grooving!

What to Expect:

5K participants will receive a t-shirt, finishers medal, custom bib, and race timing.
8:00 am Check in and registration will take place at Voigt Park (Longfellow and Second)
9:00 am 5K race starts. The start and finish line will be at Voigt Park.
Groups of 4 or more registering on the same transaction will receive a $5 discount per registrant during check-out.
Celebration and music will take place in Voigt Park afterwards.
Spectators welcome!

Join the Historic Boston-Edison Association for a peaceful evening designed to help you rest, restore, and rejuvenate in the tranquil setting of a private Boston-Edison garden.

2026 HBEA Family Costume Parade! (Saturday, October 31, 2026)

Come celebrate fall with your neighbors at Gordon Park on Saturday, October 31 for the HBEA Family Costume Party from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.

The event is on Halloween this year before trick or treating, and will include games, crafts, and a light meal. All attendees (including parents) can enjoy a walking taco (chips, ground turkey, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream). Start your trick or treating at the park and then return home to give out candy and/or walk around the neighborhood to collect more treats.

Costumes are encouraged for children and adults participating! You can let your kid get dressed up and start the fun early! Treat and candy prizes will be available for the winners of yard games.

As always, treats donations are greatly appreciated. Contact Cassi Meitl at cmmeitl@gmail.com or 708-212-0524 to donate treats or volunteer for the event to help clean the park beforehand and set up, referee games, or tear down at the end.

HBEA Holiday Decoration "Fluff" Party! (Saturday, November 07, 2026)

HBEA Residents, WE NEED YOU!

The HBEA Beautification Committee is currently looking for extra hands Saturday. November 7 at 10am. Come help unpack and "fluff up" our holiday decorations in preparation for decorating light poles around the neighborhood.

Because there are many poles and we will have coverage over the entire neighborhood, many hands make for light work!

Please stop in and assist for however many hours you are able. We need as many hands as possible.
