We are happy to announce the 2020 edition of our house concert series. The concert series is presented by the Historic Boston-Edison Association and Michelle May, Music Director of the Sounds of Music House Concerts™ organization.
Concert #4: Straight Ahead Trio

In order to comply with the current health and safety guidelines, the following measures will be used for this concert:
- This will be a one-hour concert event. You will be allowed to enter the backyard beginning 45 minutes before start time.
- There will be VERY limited tickets available.
- Tickets are only available in advance; no ticket sales "at the door".
- NO food or drink will be provided, although you can bring your own, picnic-style. You must clean up and take your trash with you (don't forget trash bags).
- NO entering the homes (not even for the bathroom, so please plan accordingly--there will be no portable bathroom facilities).
- Wearing masks is REQUIRED of all attendees and are to be removed only to eat and drink.
- Seats will be appropriately socially distanced; at least six feet apart all around. Families of the same household or groups that are together may sit together picnic-style on the ground or in seated groups closer than six feet. Chairs will be provided, but you may bring your own if you'd like.
- Concert will have a rain date; there will be no "under-the-tent" seating.

The musical engine for the ground breaking jazz group Straight Ahead, the Straight Ahead Trio is a group of strong, inventive instrumentalists and vocalists, renown as powerful and imaginative composers and arrangers.
With 5 recordings to its credit, Straight Ahead has established itself as one of jazz’s most enduring and prolific groups. These Grammy-nominated and Downbeat Award winning artists have shared a bill with performers such as Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Roy Ayers, Max Roach, Alex Bugnon, George Duke and KEM. They have toured extensively in the United States, Australia, the Caribbean and Europe garnering rave reviews.
Straight Ahead's founding members, the “Rhythm Sisters”- Pianist Alina Morr, Bassist Marion Hayden and Drummer Gayelynn McKinney are the Straight Ahead Trio. Each member of the trio brings a different and complimentary color to the music. The rich jazz bass traditions of Hayden, the fiery Latin and Blues piano of Morr and the poly-rhythms of McKinney’s drums are the intersection of vibe and jazz.
