Keep Detroit Clean Poster Contest

Detroit is hosting the NFL Draft in April 2024 and is inviting local students to participate in a poster contest. Prizes include laptops, game systems, tablets, and bikes. Join us by entering the contest and pledging to Keep Detroit Clean.

Contest RulesThe contest consists of three levels: Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12), each with three winners and honorable mentions, totaling 12 prizes.

Entries will be judged on:

1. Adherence to contest themes: Keep Detroit Clean, Don’t Litter; and I Am Keeping My City Clean
2. Design clarity, focusing on one of the themes and use of colors

Posters must fall within these sizes: (8.5” x 11” to 17” x 11”).

Each entry must be submitted with an official contest entry form affixed to the back of the poster. Entries become the property of the City of Detroit for promotional use. 

Entries should be dropped off at the Detroit Water & Sewerage Department, 735 Randolph, Detroit, MI  48226 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Eligibility Students must reside in the city of Detroit and can attend a public or private school, or be home schooled.

Extended Deadline Deadline has been extended to Monday, March 18. Winners will be announced Monday, April 1.

Contest Prizes

1st Place - HP Pavilion Laptop One first-place winner at each level: Elementary, Middle, and High School (3 prizes in total)

2nd Place - Nintendo Switch OR Huffy Hardtail Mountain Bike One second-place winner at each level: Elementary, Middle, and High School (3 prizes in total)

3rd Place - Gotrax Hoverboard OR Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet One third-place winner at each level: Elementary, Middle, and High School (3 prizes in total)

Honorable Mention - $50 VISA Gift CardOne honorable mention at each level: Elementary, Middle, and High School (3 prizes in total)
