The Bridge Trio featuring Velda Kelly, John McLaughlin Williams and Romona Merritt John McLaughlin Williams, a graduate of Boston University School of Music, the New England Conservatory and The Cleveland Institute of Music, is a GRAMMY award-winning conductor (the first African-American conductor to win) and violinist. Violinist Velda Kelly is a member of the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra and a substitute musician with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She is the co-artistic director of Chamber Music at the Scarab Club (Detroit). She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College and Boston University. Romona Merritt is a native of Jacksonville Florida and was a violist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra from 1998-2015. She is currently a substitute musician with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Minnesota. Light dinner fare will be served.
